Buyer (queretaro site)
abbott, a global leading healthcare company, is building a manufacturing facility in querétaro. As a buyer, you will ensure that the materials, parts, components, services, and supplies demanded by the production process are acquired at competitive prices, meet quality standards, and are delivered in the required quantities.
responsibilities
* prepare purchase orders (pos) per mrp/requisition requirements and monitor delivery against the pos.
* sourcing and quoting requirements for goods and services to support operational activities.
* coordinate the return of damaged goods, replacement items, or credit arrangements; arrange vendor corrective action and work with sqe and suppliers to improve quality.
* plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules, collaborating with suppliers to prevent shortages.
* maintain and update the supplier data base (asl) and perform supplier evaluation and management with sqe.
* coordinate with logistics and customs agents to import parts, equipment, and components under the maquila scheme.
* communicate clear, concise information via phone, e‑mail, or other methods.
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
* at least 3 years of experience in automotive, manufacturing, or medical industry.
* direct and indirect purchasing experience, including preparation of purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
* supplier selection and comparable price table preparation.
* experience conducting bidding processes with suppliers to secure the most competitive commercial offers.
* inventory control using sap.
* english language proficiency.
