Meeting & events coordinator role
* optimize opportunities for generating revenue from meeting & events sales by implementing strategies to upsell function items.
* guarantee the highest standards of event management are in place including building relationships with new/existing clients to secure repeat business.
* manage day-to-day operations and activities within the department, where implementation of the selling strategy yields meetings and events space.
the meeting & events manager will interact frequently with clients and guests to understand their needs and develop long-term relationships that result in repeat and expanded business. They must optimize all meeting & events sales revenue opportunities, ensure high standards of event management, manage the department's daily operations and build strong relationships with clients and team members.
to be successful, the meeting & events manager must possess good personal presentation skills, a sound understanding of conference & events industry, previous experience working in an event planning environment, effective organizational skills, be able to close sales and have prior experience in a sales environment.
