job details
provides administration and management of health, safety, and environmental programs. Ensures compliance with safety and health regulatory requirements at federal, state, local, and corporate levels. Manages and administers the site iso 14001 environmental management system and ensures compliance with environmental regulations.
acts as a liaison between the facility and regulatory agencies. Assists the facilities maintenance team with contractor screening and training to ensure safe work practices. Supervises staff according to organizational policies and laws, including training, work planning, and issue resolution.
facilitates site safety committees and conducts ergonomic and safety inspections. Develops local procedures and training programs for health, safety, and environmental compliance. Manages permits, licenses, and incident investigations, and maintains documentation of compliance activities.
oversees waste management including hazardous, medical, and recyclable waste, following hierarchy of controls. Maintains relationships with vendors and regulatory agencies, and reports as required. Supports preventive maintenance and tracks safety and environmental performance indicators.
coordinates with corporate hse to update osha logs, implement directives, and maintain emergency and business continuity plans. Ensures timely completion of safety work orders and supports safety and environmental initiatives across the site.
qualifications
bachelor's degree in environmental science, safety, or relevant field required. +5 years of manufacturing experience preferred. Combination of education and experience acceptable.
skill sets
strong collaboration and team-building skills. Knowledge of fda regulations, business continuity planning, and risk management preferred. Ability to travel internationally, including to mexico.
training/certifications
preferred: dot, rcra, iso 14001, safety professional (csp), first aid/cpr/aed, valid driver's license.
