position summary
the production & product development assistant manager plays a crucial role in managing the product development and production process at cult gaia. They are responsible for ensuring that design’s vision is interpreted to the extent that the desired aesthetic and quality level is achieved in the final product.
this role requires a creative and collaborative thinker. Our ideal candidate is a high achiever with a sunny disposition and a passion for high end women’s fashion.
key responsibilities
* manage the end-to-end development and production process across multiple rtw categories.
* lead and mentor 1-2 direct reports. Deliver annual performance reviews.
* responsible for cost negotiations.
* achieve target imu goals.
* own weekly wip meetings. Collaborate to ensure visibility to seasonal calendar dates and approval status.
* address and find solutions to cost and delivery challenges.
* raise unresolved issues to manager in a timely manner.
* review seasonal raw material selections with design, ensuring timing and costs align with goals.
* regularly communicate with suppliers and develop strong partnerships.
* oversee sample status, supporting the direct report as necessary to achieve on time delivery.
* confirm all data is properly entered in the system and pushing to netsuite.
* monitor bookings against delivery status, close/cancel and ndc dates.
* actively confirm direct report is receiving packing slips and tracking open balances.
* maintain netsuite and wfx integrity.
qualification requirements
* bachelor’s or fashion school degree.
* minimum of 4 years’ experience in product development and production, designer rtw a plus.
* adept at working with domestic vendors and overseas factories.
* excels at negotiations, preferably with experience that includes contemporary level product.
* proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
* strong organizational skills.
* proven ability to be a valued contributor.
* comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization.
