*category manager procurement packaging*summary*this position has responsibility to provide management of assigned packaging categories and outsourced operations.
the scope of this management includes the following key activities:- supplier relationship management for packaging materials- supply market expertise and financial analysis- category strategy development and execution for supply continuity aligned with esg goals including sustainability- strategic sourcing- *deliver forward looking sourcing strategies and srm for packaging materials.
*execute aforementioned through cross-functional alignment and supplier enablement.
work globally and externally to gather and share insights, best practices, and provide total cost optimization.
accountable for achieving financial targets associated with flexible materials including material budget setting & attainment, risk mitigation, ci pipeline & delivery, and dispute resolutions.
defines risk management techniques via supply and market expertise e.g.
hedging, sole supply mitigation, offshore vs onshore material sourcing.- *defines and owns the relationship management approach for packaging material suppliers.
* understands industry bpo best practices, and aligns the organization around the strategic management of the supplier.
works intimately with design and graphics packaging development.
negotiates and implements a long-term contractual relationship which drives operational performance and joint value creation.
monitors kpis and corrective actions.
able to effectively manage senior relationships within the supplier, and across internal functional stakeholders.this position requires domestic travel (10% or more) at times to support on-going business needs*responsibilities*- for assigned categories, provide worldwide supply market expertise in order to develop and execute strategies that lower total cost of ownership and provide cost continuity over time.
analyze relevant supply market information in order to have a thorough knowledge of these markets and their impact to the company.
obtain and interpret data received from a multitude of sources pertaining to supply & demand, industry trends, innovation, technology, as well as micro and macro-economic conditions.
monitor the competitive environment of key suppliers to stay abreast of emerging sources of supply and changes in supplier strategies.- as category strategy owner, develop category strategies which ensure that the company is optimally positioned in a given market and that its suppliers provide packaging which consistently meets its business needs.
utilize supply market information and category evaluation tools to develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company position in the market.
craft specific plans which seek to optimize the company position in the market
