Strategic account manager

the ideal candidate will possess strong sales, interpersonal and organizational skills. They should be comfortable with multitasking and able to budget resources effectively to meet assigned quotas.

two open positions are available that strategically manage and develop the relationship with key clients: telmex as the primary client and desirably with telcel; totalplay as the primary client.

maximizing sales growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction through consultative selling of advanced fiber optic solutions for tier 1 networks is a key responsibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for deeply understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities, managing the forecast accurately, and leading the execution of complex technical solutions.

* key responsibilities:
* develop and execute medium-to-long-term strategic account plans for telmex (mandatory) and telcel (desirable).
* serve as the primary point of contact and build strong, trusted relationships with high-level stakeholders in the client's technical, procurement, and strategic areas.
* thoroughly understand telmex/telcel's business, strategy, technical challenges, and technology roadmap.
* consultative sales of fiber optic solutions:
* identify, qualify, and develop business opportunities for fiber optic solutions in access and transport networks targeting tier 1 clients.
* leverage technical knowledge to present comprehensive solutions, differentiated value propositions, and robust technical arguments.
* prepare and present complex technical-commercial proposals, negotiate contracts, and close profitable deals.
* forecast management and planning:
* develop, update, and manage the sales forecast (pipeline) for assigned accounts with high accuracy.
* monitor opportunity progress and provide regular predictive reports on revenue, risks, and opportunities.
* coordinate with planning and operations to ensure forecast feasibility and compliance.
* internal coordination and leadership:
* act as the internal 'account ceo' leading and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure flawless solution execution and customer satisfaction.
* facilitate effective communication and alignment between customer needs and internal capabilities.
* crm and sales process management:
* follow and optimize established sales processes.
* market and competitive intelligence:
* monitor competitor activity, market trends, and relevant new technologies for assigned accounts.
* provide critical feedback to product and marketing teams based on customer insights.

essential requirements:

* experience: minimum 5-7 years in complex commercial roles within the telecommunications sector, preferably with infrastructure vendors.
* clients: demonstrable experience managing high-complexity/high-volume strategic accounts. Proven experience working directly with telmex or totalplay as a primary client. Experience with telcel will be a significant advantage.
* technical knowledge: solid knowledge and ability to speak authoritatively about fiber optic networks, optical distribution networks, access technologies, and optical transport networks.
* languages: advanced english, verifiable. Essential for communication with headquarters, global suppliers, technical documentation, and international meetings.
* forecast management: demonstrated experience creating, managing, and fulfilling sales forecasts for key accounts.
* sales skills: demonstrated experience in consultative sales, complex negotiation, closing large contracts, and building long-term strategic relationships.
* education: bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration. Master's degree desirable.

* results orientation & proactivity: high initiative, autonomy, resilience, and focus on achieving ambitious goals.
* time management & organization: ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

* deep knowledge of mexico's telecommunications regulatory ecosystem.
