The accounting manager functions as the lead accounting and controllership professional supporting the plant controller. They are responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of results, as well as the maintenance and protection of the company’s assets through balance sheet integrity and ensuring a strong control environment.
responsibilities:
* maintain a strong control environment and accurate financial statements in accordance with us gaap and company policy.
* manage the complete month-end and quarterly close process.
* ensure compliance and improvements to site internal controls and sarbanes-oxley (key controls) requirements.
* coordinate and schedule year-end plant physical inventory for external warehouses and oversee cycle counting.
* maintain inventory control procedures and assist in their development.
* manage and review fixed asset sub-ledger, expenditures, cip reviews, audits, and idle assets.
* provide leadership for manufacturing cost management.
* support plant accounts payable, statutory, tax, and treasury procedures.
* identify business or accounting risks proactively and implement countermeasures.
* support internal audits, ensuring minimal findings and timely closure of actions.
* lead by example with integrity and uphold ethical standards.
function as a strong business partner with the plant manager and operations team to provide reporting and transparency that drive actionable results.
* prepare and manage actual, forecast, and budget scenarios throughout the year.
* analyze plant performance, evaluate variances, and assess effects on results.
* provide scenario modeling and ad hoc analysis to support decision-making.
* lead or participate in presentations to plant employees, management, bu, and corporate teams.
manage and develop staff through ongoing mentoring, coaching, and learning experiences.
* provide effective leadership to staff and direct reports.
* offer continuous coaching and feedback for professional growth.
* prioritize and manage work assignments effectively.
job requirements:
* bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance; cpa or mba preferred.
* experience with sap and hfm is a plus.
* 5-7 years of finance/controllership experience in large/complex manufacturing sites.
* knowledge of us gaap, sox, and manufacturing cost accounting.
