your mission, roles and responsibilities
support and enhance automated manufacturing systems within a high-volume, automotive production environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining equipment stability, process robustness, and continuous improvement across plc-controlled systems, robotics, and industrial networks.
the position supports plant operations on a rotating schedule between second and third shift, aligned with a 24-hour manufacturing operation.
responsibilities
automation & controls
continuous improvement on linestoppage downtime reduction
diagnose and resolve issues related to servo drives, motion control, and automated equipment
implement logic adjustments and parameter changes following plant change-management processes
automation implementation to reduce human dependent operation, including the failure occurrence
robotics support
support industrial robotic applications (kuka preferred), including program recovery and optimization
tcp, mastering, and reference validation
plc–robot interlock verification
production support
provide hands-on automation support during production disturbances and startups
act as an escalation point for automation-related issues during assigned shifts
collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to restore stable operation
continuous improvement
identify recurring automation issues and support root-cause analysis
contribute to improvements in availability, cycle time, and process reliability
industrial communication & data
support industrial communication networks (e.g., profinet, ethernet/ip)
assist with automation-related data, diagnostics, and traceability systems
your profile and competencies to succeed
qualifications
bachelor's degree in automation, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or related field
hands-on experience with:
siemens plcs (tia portal)
industrial robots (kuka preferred)
servo drives and motion control
strong troubleshooting skills in a production environment
willingness to support a rotating shift schedule between 2nd and 3rd shift
