Overview
your job: be an integral member of the npi (new product introduction) planning team in guadalajara, responsible for delivering weekly production schedules that keep npi timelines on track. You will align material availability, manpower and equipment capacity with bu expectations, proactively remove blockers, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure on-time launches and sustained production performance.
our team
you will join the supply chain organization, reporting to the planner supervisor. The role partners closely with production managers and line supervisors, buyers, warehouse & shipping, csr, demand planning, npi engineering and quality, and program management to execute npi launches and mass production transitions.
what you will do
* ensure npi timelines are met by delivering clear, actionable weekly production schedules that align with business unit expectations.
* translate demand and backlog into prioritized production plans that maximize throughput and minimize delays across product families.
* proactively analyze material availability (clear-to-build/ctb) and raise/execute mitigation plans to prevent schedule disruptions.
* coordinate multi-product production flows and shift demand to meet npi requirements and maintain on-time completion of work orders.
* monitor production output and key performance metrics; communicate status, risks and recovery plans to program management and the bu.
* collaborate with quality, engineering, warehouse and other support groups to resolve production constraints and validate readiness for releases.
* drive continuous improvement and kaizen initiatives (bi-weekly releases), proposing process or strategy changes that reduce lead time and cost.
* maintain mrp exception messages, inventory strategies for finished goods and sub-assemblies, and ensure lean mrp alignment.
* identify opportunities during npi releases and implement improvements that increase manufacturing readiness and sustainment.
* foster economic thinking and intellectual curiosity to challenge the status quo while maintaining high-performance metrics (>80%).
who you are (basic qualifications)
* professional degree (or equivalent).
* proven experience developing production plans for automotive projects, with demonstrated ability to align plans to project timelines.
* proficient in erp/mrp systems and advanced excel skills.
* fluent in english (spoken and written).
* able to work full-time on site in guadalajara (no remote/home office).

* apics certification.
* karrass negotiation skills and demonstrated negotiation experience.
* experience with high-mix / low-volume operations and exposure to smt, back-end, manual assembly and/or automated processes.
* proven experience using structured problem-solving tools and conducting in-depth short- and long-term scenario analysis.
* strong emotional intelligence, adaptability to changing scenarios, and a self-directed contribution mindset.
