This position is responsible for ensuring supply availability in support of product deliveries to attain company objectives for on time delivery, lead time and customer requirements. The supply planner ensures that materials are available in the supply chain and plan for inventory at acceptable levels. Work to identify if additional supply sources are required and assist with procurement efforts and determine the level of need for the items they must procure. Essential duties and responsibilities: ensures that rolling, weekly supply plan in system supports customer commitment dates – communicates both risks (gaps) and improvements. Works with oem vendors on shortage resolution, clear to build schedule and build plans in support of ciena forecast. Ensures critical shortages and/or capacity constraints are identified and receives the appropriate action to close gaps as quickly as possible. Works effectively with suppliers to resolve supply gaps in support of production and npi. Ensures supply plan is covering demand requirements in support of sales order and forecast demand. Provide po coverage per current process. Effectively communicates delivery commitments and changes. Supports expedite requests.
