Position summary
the plant manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations at the plant level. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost?Effective production while meeting quality, delivery, and compliance standards. The plant manager leads cross?Functional teams and drives operational excellence aligned with organizational objectives.
key responsibilities
operations & performance
lead and oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and safety.
ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining efficiency, quality, and cost control.
establish and track key performance indicators (kpis) related to safety, productivity, quality, and financial performance.
drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste?Reduction initiatives.
people leadership
lead, coach, and develop plant leadership and hourly teams to build a high?Performance, accountability?Driven culture.
ensure appropriate staffing levels, succession planning, and employee development.
foster a positive labor environment and ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
safety, quality & compliance
champion a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with all ehs regulations and company standards.
ensure adherence to quality systems, customer requirements, and relevant certifications.
drive corrective and preventive actions related to safety, quality, and operational issues.
financial management
manage plant budget, labor costs, and operational expenses.
identify and implement cost?Reduction and productivity improvement opportunities.
support capital planning, including justification and execution of equipment and infrastructure investments.
strategic & cross?Functional collaboration
partner with supply chain, engineering, hr, quality, and finance to support business objectives.
support the introduction of new products, processes, or technologies.
represent plant operations in internal reviews and leadership meetings.
required qualifications
bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, industrial management, or related field (required).
10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including plant or senior operations management.
experience automotive industry (must)
strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, quality systems, and lean methodologies.
demonstrated experience managing budgets and driving operational kpis.
proven leadership, decision?Making, and change?Management capabilities.
