how will you make an impact in this role?
design, develop, and maintain technology systems for use by external and internal customers.
responsibilities:
1. ensure the seamless and efficient operation of critical it platforms.
2. manage incidents, problems, and changes using itil principles, while proactively monitoring performance and coordinating equipment installations.
3. optimize service delivery through streamlined workflows and tools, ensuring it services meet evolving colleague needs.
4. focus on data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and proactive risk mitigation to achieve operational excellence.
5. provide hands-on support for the runtime operation of applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
6. partner with supporting teams to ensure operational readiness throughout the application lifecycle.
7. lead the team in implementing runtime operation best practices around observability and resiliency.
8. collaborate with software engineering and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve runtime issues, including performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and system failures.
9. contribute to designing and implementing monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to proactively identify and address potential runtime issues.
10. participate in incident response and root cause analysis to ensure application stability and resilience.
11. work with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and provide input on runtime and operational considerations during development.
12. develop and maintain runtime automation and tooling to streamline operational processes and improve efficiency.
13. manage your time effectively, working independently and collaboratively as needed.
14. perform all aspects of software development for assigned applications, including prototyping, coding, and creating apis.
15. maintain a positive attitude, communicate effectively, and demonstrate willingness to learn and collaborate.
16. promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and risk-taking, implementing creative ideas.
minimum qualifications
1. bsc or msc in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
2. 5+ years of software experience with proficiency in java or python.
3. good understanding of gcp services such as pub-sub, dataflow, dataproc, spanner, bigquery, bigtable, google cloud storage, and google composer.
4. experience in software engineering, infrastructure operations, or related fields focusing on runtime operations and application support.
5. strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and containerization, with experience supporting critical applications a plus.
6. familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, and incident management best practices.
7. experience with ci/cd platforms like git, maven, and jenkins.
8. excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for runtime issues.
9. strong communication and teamwork skills.
