Job summary
we are looking for a responsible quality control inspector based in san felipe, guanajuato, mexico to verify handmade tile at various stages of production and manage suppliers to meet ongoing continuous improvement targets related to quality, lead time and overall performance metrics.
*job description*:
the primary responsibilities of the quality control inspector are to inspect and document work in process and finished goods in detail and verify finish, color, quality and dimensions are all within acceptable tolerance. Additional responsibilities include inspecting shipping materials for compliance with specifications and verifying packaging and shipping materials and processes are optimized to assure accuracy and mitigate potential for damages.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- monitor production processing via random factory audits
- assist with problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- maintain accurate documentation of quality inspection results
- audit and maintenance of compliance to required standards
- provide detailed quality reports as required - daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
- perform thorough visual examinations of finished tiles to assess overall quality
- other duties as required
*requirements*:
- fluent in spanish and english
- ability to travel to multiple factories regionally
- flexibility to communicate with us counterparts from 8 am to 5 pm m-f, pacific time
- proficient with software including the microsoft office suite (specifically excel)
- ability to listen well and to communicate simply and effectively
preferred qualifications
- 2+ years of quality control experience
- 2+ years of supplier continuous improvement experience
- familiarity or expertise with handmade ceramic tile and cantera
