LEADER OF MATERIAL PLANNING IN GAC MEXICALI
Manage a team of material planning specialists to ensure inventories and planned deliveries support production, completions, and spares requirements.
Coordinate teamwork with diverse teams in Savannah and Mexicali, such as Procurement, Supplier Quality, Materials, and Operations, to meet site goals.
Prepare and present information to upper management & general manager.
Participate actively in CFT & Strategic Business Unit meetings to support high-priority projects.
Follow up on plans and programs; verify priorities and make adjustments as needed.
Review, develop, analyze reports, forecasts, and metrics to take appropriate actions.
Support resolution of unplanned situations related to material planning and production scheduling (e.g., rate changes, internal plans, NOEs).
Support change management boards to incorporate engineering changes, prevent material shortages, and avoid obsolete inventory.
Promote continuous improvement within the team and the Materials Planning group.
Conduct 1-on-1 sessions and development discussions with team members.
Knowledge:
At least 5 years of experience in Materials Planning functions.
Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Experience managing Discrete, Min-Max, & VMI planning environments.
Ability to perform complex calculations and coverage analysis supporting production, completions, and new projects.
English proficiency (85% Advanced).
Expertise in CAS, Solumina, SAP.
Strong communication, teamwork, and negotiation skills.
APICS certification (Management, Inventory Control, Supply Chain, etc.).
Bachelor's Degree; 5 years of relevant experience.

Manage human and material resources for production scheduling and material planning across business units, ensuring efficient material management and timely delivery to final customers.

Essential Functions:
Serve as backup for the manager as required.
Supervise tasks and performance of employees.
Analyze and prepare reports, forecasts, and databases for production demand; monitor performance.
Manage initiatives to optimize inventory, material availability, delivery times, costs, and budgets.
Coordinate procurement activities to ensure operational needs are met.
Communicate with customers and coordinate production transfer activities.
Lead department improvements and projects.
Set annual department objectives.
Coordinate activities among team members, including indirect reports.
Coach and advise other leaders.
Negotiate internally and externally, impacting departments and areas.
Supervise senior employees and formal teams.
Provide training and mentorship.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
Professional degree plus APICS certification in MRP systems, inventory, or supply chain management.
Advanced English proficiency.
Strong teamwork skills.
