About Role:
Responsible for Customs & Foreign Trade (C&FT;) for LATAM. The expert has to look for the documents needed for exports and imports, implement new legal requirements and changes in the processes, analyze trade agreements to save duties, act as contact person for LATAM plants/offices regarding C&FT; topics as well as for internal and external C&FT; audits and requests from customs authorities. Implementation of new and change of existing Trade Agreements in SAP. Classify our materials according to the Harmonized System (HS) code. Do the request for binding tariff ruling and act as the main point of contact for LATAM regarding HS codes.
Main responsibilities:
Country logistics operations:
1.Ensure to be compliant in regard of the customs procedures.
2.Improve C&FT; process.
3.Be responsible for update on Trade Agreements for the region.
4.Create and review WI, SOP.
Logistics improvement and compliance:
1.Attend to the external audits from local authorities in regard of C&FT; issues.
2.Define, track and improve a set of process KPI clearly indicating overall C&FT; performance.
3.Lead C&FT; projects and act as team member in projects for his region.
4.Develop, align and implement own C&FT; initiatives securing and supporting the company targets.
5.Integration with Sales, Supply Chain & Procurement areas.
Communication, Training and Enablement:
1.Ensure sufficient training for regulatory C&FT; safety relevant topics.
2.Accepted knowledgeable C&FT; expert for his country and region.
3.Develop trustful relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
4.Create professional working environment with the stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education:
Academic degree in business management, C&FT; equivalent.
Business experience:
a) Good business understanding and ability to conduct strategic / tactical process planning based on the business needs.
b) Ability to seamlessly partner with business and service organizations.
c) Experience in projects and improvement process.
Experience:
International cross-culture exposure and ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of an organization as change agent.
Additional Information
Additional Qualifications:
Good understanding in English, fluent in Spanish. Ability to work in international teams. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Good understanding of accounts receivable function and processes. Good Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Self-starter who is performance and quality oriented. Timeliness. A strong will to deliver excellent quality/ service and continuously improve technical/ functional skills and efficiency. Distinctive customer orientation and interact courteously with customers.
