we always reach for more.business need / purpose of rolethe accounts payable coordinator is responsible for timely and accurately processing of invoices and payments, ensuring corporate procedures, policies and guidelines are adhered to when delivering the services, while advising management of changes that affect the delivery and cost of services, and providing suggestions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the services being delivered.responsibilities (objectives & measurement)respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects of accounts payable, including processing invoices for payment, recording invoices, and assisting with vendor reconciliations.verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm the correct general ledger account codes.investigate and resolve problems associated with the processing of invoices.handle all vendor correspondence via email.generate payments to vendors on a routine schedule.prepare wire transfers and ach transactions online.reconcile various accounts on a weekly/monthly basis, bringing any discrepancies to management's attention.maintain a filing system for financial information, records, and documents to ensure readily available information.assist in compiling information and preparing responses to auditors during the annual external audit.perform other duties as required to support the accounting department.knowledge, skills, and abilitiesknowledge of shipping documentation, e.g., bill of lading (bol).
knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.ability to work independently with limited supervision, multitask, and possess strong initiative; exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures.ability to prioritize work and handle multiple competing priorities.ability to balance multiple tasks, changing priorities, and operate within a deadline-oriented environment.ability to think logically, establish and follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions.possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize, be detail oriented and results driven.attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills.excellent customer service and communication skills, including strong verbal and listening skills.proficiency with microsoft word, excel, powerpoint, sharepoint, and outlook.education, qualifications, certifications, and licenseshigh school diploma or ged required.associate's and/or bachelor's degree in finance, accountancy or related field desired but not required.4-5 years hands-on experience in accounts payable.previous experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or transportation/logistics preferred but not required.experience in a complex international organization is a plus.excellent verbal and written communications skills in english.
