Position summary / job purpose
The Logistics Manager leads end-to-end logistics and warehousing operations through a 3PL, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective execution from receiving to final delivery. The role owns 3PL governance, KPI/SLA performance, inventory accuracy, transportation efficiency, and continuous improvement to meet business and customer service goals. This position partners cross-functionally to balance demand, capacity, and budget while proactively managing risks, expense control, and network optimization.
Key responsibilities/activities
1. 3PL governance and performance management: Own the relationship with the 3PL, set and track SLAs/KPIs, run business reviews, and drive corrective actions to close performance gaps.
2. Warehouse and inventory control: Ensure inventory accuracy, traceability, and proper storage practices (FIFO/FEFO, lot/serial, expiry control), including cycle counts and audits.
3. Inbound and outbound transportation management: Oversee carrier/routing strategy, shipment planning, freight cost optimization, and issue resolution for delivery incidents.
4. Order fulfillment and customer service execution: Guarantee timely, complete, and correct order processing (picking, packing, shipping), managing escalations that impact customers.
5. Cost and budget ownership: Build, manage, and optimize the logistics budget; validate 3PL billing and deliver cost-reduction and Total Cost Ownership improvement initiatives.
6. Continuous improvement and process standardization: Lead projects to improve productivity, reduce damages/returns, shorten cycle times, and standardize SOPs.
7. Cross-functional coordination and risk management: Partner with Planning, Sales, Customer Service, Quality and Finance to align capacity and demand, mitigate operational risks, and ensure compliance.

* Supply Chain Director: Align logistics strategy, capacity, and performance to business goals; escalate risks and decisions.
* Demand Planning: Synchronize inbound flows, inventory targets, and fulfillment priorities; manage peaks and shortages.
* Customer Service: Ensure OTIF performance, resolve delivery issues, and coordinate order priorities and escalations.
* Sales & Marketing: Support product launches, promotions, channel requirements, and special customer programs.
* Finance: Manage logistics budget, validate 3PL invoices, track savings.
* Regulatory / Compliance: Ensure warehouse and transport comply with SOPs, audits, product handling rules, and industry regulations.
* Import-Export: Coordinate receiving schedules, labeling.
External
* 3PL Leadership & Operations Teams: Daily execution governance, SLA/KPI reviews, staffing/capacity planning, and continuous improvement.
* Carriers / Transportation: Lane performance, freight optimization, claims handling, and delivery issue resolution.
* Key Accounts: Service level alignment, delivery commitments, and resolution of high-impact incidents.
* Auditors / Regulatory: Ensure audit readiness, documentation, and corrective actions on findings.
Education and Experience
University – bachelor's degree (Industrial Engineering)
Preferred experience: More than 10 yrs
