Payroll operations analyst job description
as a payroll operations analyst, you will be responsible for conducting payroll activities, analyzing and interpreting pay rules, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
* conduct payroll activities, analyze and interpret pay rules utilizing workbrain online time and attendance (ota), workday time tracking, workday payroll, and servicenow case management.
* enter and review timecard data in ota or workday time tracking, adjust time entries, pay inputs, or payroll costing allocations.
* calculate pay for union employees according to collective bargaining agreements and all employees according to company policy and legislative requirements.
* process special pay requests for relocation, severance, leave of absence, and paid time off.
* calculate additional payroll-related items, including garnishments, adjustments, pension, etc.
* resolve any issues with taxes, imputed income, or benefit deductions.
* initiate pay runs, monitor and audit payrolls.
* calculate and enter retroactive pay changes.
* export data from ota for processing in workday payroll.
* research payroll inconsistencies and irregularities to determine root cause and provide resolution.
* work with cross-functional counterparts to understand and resolve issues.
* proactively communicate and collaborate with process partners and/or other points of escalation to provide research and information to resolve issues.
* follow and maintain internal control policies, procedures, and compliance with respect to the payroll process.
* assist with month-end closing and general ledger integration queries to the financial system.
* prepare journal entries for sap financial system.
