YOUR TASKS
- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant
regulations.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax
returns.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify potential tax saving
opportunities.
- Implement and maintain tax compliance procedures to mitigate risks and ensure accuracy.
- Tax Planning:
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the organization's tax liability.
- Provide guidance on the tax implications of business transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions,
and restructuring.
- Identify opportunities for tax credits, deductions, and incentives to optimize the organization's
tax position.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and legal, to structure transactions in a tax efficient
manner.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review tax provisions for financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally
Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related financial information to internal and external
stakeholders.
- Assist with the preparation of tax disclosures for financial statements and regulatory filings.
- Tax Audit Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tax authorities during audits and inquiries.
- Coordinate responses to tax notices and requests for information, working closely with internal
and external stakeholders.
- Review and analyze tax audit findings and proposed adjustments, providing recommendations
for resolution.
- Team Management and Development:
- Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance on technical matters and professional
development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the tax department.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to support their
growth and development.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or advanced degree preferred
- 2. 5+ years of experience in tax compliance, planning, and reporting, preferably in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
