Opportunity
under the direction of the plant manager p3, the successful candidate will supervise the operation of the tunnel kilns, shuttle kilns, robotic and manual spray operations, and dry finishing. The role includes proper utilization of equipment and personnel to meet established production schedules within budget, as well as developing and recommending activities to improve productivity, quality, processing methods, and products.

responsibilities
* direct the processing operations for kilns and spraying to meet established acceptance standards and engineering specifications in accordance with planned production schedules.
* continuously monitor and analyze the performance of the production units against departmental objectives, cost standards, labor and expense budgets, and supply requirements; take corrective action or recommend activities to improve results.
* maintain close contact with other production supervisors to coordinate corrective measures on defective wares.
* direct and manage subordinate supervisory personnel, ensuring duties and responsibilities are clearly defined and communicated.
* assist in formulating department operating objectives that support plant and division objectives.
* participate in the development of budgets and forecasts for material and labor requirements, and other operating and forecast plans.
* assist in developing and implementing training programs.
* assist in developing safety rules and practices, ensuring compliance with established standards.
* collaborate with the industrial engineering department to establish labor and material utilization standards and improvement projects.
* recommend employment decisions to the plant superintendent for immediate subordinates, including employment, promotion, dismissal, or compensation changes.
* approve department requisitions for equipment, supplies, services, or other expenditures.
* communicate regularly with the superintendent and hr about the overall status of labor conditions in the area of responsibility.
* work with materials personnel to identify and develop local sources of raw materials and supplies to maximize local content.
* comply with health and safety roles and responsibilities established for the position.
* comply with iso 9001:2015 management system requirements.
skills / requirements
education: preference for a bachelor’s degree.
experience: preference for two to four years of work experience in manufacturing operations.
formation: knowledge of ceramic engineering, preferably in kiln operations and supervision. Knowledge of iso and six sigma preferred.
