Overview
(website development + local seo for home service businesses)
we're looking for a senior-level web developer with strong seo expertise to support website builds, on-page seo, and local seo execution for u.s.-based home service businesses (hvac, plumbing, electrical, roofing, pool builders, general contractors).
this is not a junior role and not a "learn-on-the-job" position.
you must already understand how seo, website structure, tracking, and performance all work together. When you build or update a website, you are expected to do it with seo, speed, and tracking in mind from day one.
responsibilities
build and update websites primarily using:
generatepress
implement content created by the content/seo team into live websites
ensure clean site structure, proper h-tag hierarchy, internal linking, and fast load times
avoid over-optimization and keyword stuffing while maintaining seo best practices
elementor and divi are not primary builders. Familiarity is okay, but this role is not for elementor-only developers.
optimize:
title tags
heading structure
url structure
execute local seo tasks including:
citation building and cleanup
nap consistency
local business listings
work with tools such as:
brightlocal (preferred)
whitespark
ahrefs
semrush
google keyword planner
set up and manage:
click tracking
call tracking
conversion tracking
ensure google analytics and gtm are set up correctly on every website
understand how to troubleshoot tracking issues and validate data accuracy
treat tracking as a standard part of every website build, not an afterthought
manage daily and weekly tasks via clickup
work across multiple client accounts simultaneously
communicate clearly with internal teams
take ownership of tasks without micromanagement
requirements
3+ years of experience in web development and seo
proven experience with:
cadence or generatepress
local seo for u.s. businesses
strong understanding of american search intent and language
ability to work independently and deliver without constant oversight
strong written english (accent is fine — grammar and clarity are not optional)
this role is not
a beginner seo position
a content-only role
a web designer who doesn't understand seo or tracking
