About the role we are seeking a results-driven and operationally savvy plant controller to serve as the financial backbone of our largest manufacturing facility. This is a high-impact leadership role for a finance professional who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and possesses the resilience, drive, and technical depth to elevate financial performance while supporting operational excellence. Reporting directly to vice president of finance, the plant controller will own all aspects of plant-level financial operations, partnering closely with operations, supply chain, quality and plant management. This role demands a builder's mindset — someone who does not merely manage processes but creates, improves, and leads them. Key responsibilities cost accounting & financial reporting own and manage the full standard costing system, including bom validation, labor and overhead rate-setting, and variance analysis prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual plant financial statements and management reports analyze cost drivers, manufacturing variances, and margins to provide actionable insights to plant leadership ensure timely and accurate period-end close activities in compliance with gaap and corporate policies inventory control oversee inventory valuation, cycle count programs, and physical inventory processes identify and address inventory risks including slow-moving, obsolete, and excess stock partner with supply chain and production to maintain optimal inventory levels and accuracy financial analysis & planning lead plant-level budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes develop financial models and scenario analyses to support capital investment decisions and operational initiatives track and communicate kpis, financial trends, and performance against targets to operational and executive stakeholders project management lead and support capital expenditure tracking, post-investment reviews, and cost reduction initiatives drive cross-functional financial projects from inception to completion with clear milestones and accountability champion continuous improvement efforts in financial processes, systems, and controls leadership & team development lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals build a high-performance finance culture grounded in integrity, accountability, and urgency serve as a trusted business partner and financial advisor to the plant director and operational leadership team internal controls & compliance design, implement, and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard company assets coordinate with internal auditors and ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory, and tax requirements uphold the highest standards of financial ethics and transparency in all activities qualifications & requirements education bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field required cpa, cma, or mba designation is a strong advantage. Experience 5 years of demonstrated management experience in accounting or financial leadership roles prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred proven track record managing cost accounting, inventory control, and plant financial operations experience leading cross-functional teams and projects in a dynamic operational setting technical skills expert proficiency in cost accounting methodologies (standard costing, absorption costing, activity-based costing) strong command of erp systems (baan iv, m3, sap, oracle, or equivalent); advanced excel skills required solid understanding of gaap and financial reporting standards candidate competency profile the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following personal and professional attributes: competency what we're looking for resilience demonstrates composure and perseverance under pressure; recovers quickly from setbacks and adapts to changing priorities without losing focus or effectiveness.
