we are seeking an experienced automation engineer to lead multiple projects, from design to commissioning, while optimizing processes and roi using lean principles. Responsibilities include plc programming, system integration, fat/sat testing, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safety, quality, and performance. The ideal candidate requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 2–3 years in manufacturing automation, and expertise in plcs, robotics, and industrial networking.
responsibilities:
* lead multiple automation projects simultaneously from concept to completion, including requirements gathering, system design, programming, testing, and commissioning.
* develop cost estimates, investment forecasts, business cases, appropriation requests, and plans for project activity.
* collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, product engineering, quality, operations, it) to integrate automation solutions into existing infrastructure.
* utilize lean skills to build project scopes that use automation technology to improve factory process flow and optimize roi or other kpis.
* develop fat and sat requirements to conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of automation systems, ensuring functionality and reliability. Ensure engineering solutions meet safety, quality, cost, time, and throughput expectations.
* provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automation equipment.
* develop and maintain documentation related to automation systems, including technical specifications, operating procedures, and user manuals.
* stay current with industry trends and advancements in automation technology to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
* ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies in all automation activities.
* own responsibility for technical project leadership, using prior engineering knowledge or gaining new knowledge to be the project’s technical expert.
requirements:
* bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
* proven experience (2-3 years) as an automation engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
* project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, is a plus.
* strong proficiency in plc programming (allen-bradley control logix/compact logix/micro logix, siemens, etc.), hmi/scada systems.
* basic knowledge of servo motors, vfds, and industrial networking protocols (ethernet/ip, modbus, profibus).
* experience with multi-axis robots, motion control systems, and vision systems is highly desirable.
* additional skills:
* fluent in english (required).
* advanced excel skills, along with working knowledge of other microsoft office programs.
* effective communication skills to interface at all organizational levels.
