Financial planning and analysis manager mexico

this role is fundamental for the commercial operation of the mexico business unit as it collaborates directly with the design and development of medium- and long-term business strategies. It also plays a key role in day-to-day activities monitoring results through kpis, performing variance analysis, and acting as a critical business partner for senior management teams.


responsibilities

* look for the right balance between business strategy and commercial operations.
* generate analytical information for decision-making together with the team.
* collaborate to design and implement the mexico business strategy, monitor and track its performance through kpis and scorecards, and provide insights to identify risks and opportunities.
* take care of the shape of the p&l and provide periodic analytical reports to control forecasted expenditures.
* create a collaborative environment among commercial finance teams and the rest of the organization.
* elaborate the annual business plan and quarterly forecast, prepare corresponding documentation, and present it to the mexico management team for approval.
* support the preparation of the country plan, brand plan, quarterly business review, and monthly business review presentations for the emerging international leadership team.
* elaborate monthly p&l statements to identify risks and opportunities for the year.
* provide analysis and insights on business performance related to the profit & loss statement, sg&a, and advertising expenses by brand and department to support investment and resource allocation decisions.
* provide variance reports by volume, price, and mix of leading brands compared to last year and budget to quickly identify potential risks.
* follow up monthly with brand managers and department directors on travel and expenses, free goods, and vaps.
* coordinate the sales and business planning process to evaluate the performance of the annual strategy, including submitting scoring files, calendarizing monthly meetings, and leading the commercial performance review meetings with management.
* oversee the overall pricing process, coordinating planning with the revenue growth management team and brand managers, defining pricing lists by sku and channel, and ensuring new pricing lists are uploaded correctly in sap by the supply chain team.
* align the entire pricing process with the sox procedures and modify them as required when changes occur.
* supervise commercial analysts across channels to keep the marketing resources management system updated with current market conditions and customer obligations.
* maintain all financial information templates aligned with the company's short-, medium-, and long-term strategy.
* generate and analyze financial package reports, including p&l, customer profitability, brand expense, vaps, and sg&a tracker.
* evaluate the launch of new projects and products.
* calculate monthly sales kpis for bonus payment.
* standardize financial, planning, and analysis tools and reports, promoting continuous improvement.
* set annual objectives for junior analysts, mentor, and develop their career progress.


qualifications

* college degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
* 5+ years of financial planning, accounting, or related budget management experience.
* english proficiency is required.
* ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and influence stakeholders beyond the department.
* excellent communication and presentation skills.
* project management and strong analytical abilities.
* experience in people management and development.
* strong communicator capable of influencing and building productive relationships across all organizational levels, functions, and cultures.
* exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and ambiguous environment.
* advanced analytical skills, knowledge of data analysis, metrics, and the ability to translate data, research, and trends into actionable decisions.
