*what you'll be doing - te whakamahere*
- an exciting opportunity now exists within our mexico city based team for a proven international business development manager (bdm), who can coach and guide businesses to commercial success in the mexico, central american and the caribbean markets, with a dedicated focus on growing customers in the mining, oil & gas, and manufacturing industries.
you will use your keen business acumen and agility to leverage your existing commercial relationships to proactively support our customers already in or looking to enter market to, with the aim of converting opportunities into value.
you will support customers to create and execute their growth plans and play a key role in evaluating the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for our customers in comparison to their competitors, and then assist them in shaping and reshaping their strategies and business models to help them succeed.
you will also provide insight on the realities of the market through expert market research and analysis, identifying and providing introductions to strategic relationships and potential in-market partners, helping develop new channels to market and identifying and building potential growth opportunities.
there will be many opportunities to work as part of our wider latin america (latam) team, involved in projects that will see you work across and with different offices.

- you will have a solid understanding of the challenges of growing a successful international business in mexico in particular, as well as knowledge of other markets including central america and the caribbean.
you will be highly versed in a range of trade and economic issues with solid experience across a variety of business disciplines such as business consulting, sales, marketing, account management through multiple roles in your career.
you will have well-developed knowledge of, and personal networks, in the mining, oil & gas and/or the manufacturing sectors in mexico.
you will have the intellectual agility to quickly diagnose business challenges and research and identify opportunities beyond your core area of expertise.
building new relationships and networks comes naturally to you and you will have well-developed listening, influencing and communication skill.
you will have a growth mindset, "can do" attitude and be motivated to use initiative to do whatever it takes to problem solve and get things done for our clients.
you will be action oriented whilst still being a superb team player.
you will have demonstrated a proven ability to turn market knowledge and data into insights that are actionable for our customers is key.
as is the planning, time management and organisation skills that will be critical to your success in this busy and varied role.
fluency in both english and spanish, ideally with a tertiary business qualification and it would be advantageous if you have experience in project management.
