Job Profile: Multi-Plant Payroll CoordinatorLocation: Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, Mexico Industry: AutomotivePosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Multi-Plant Payroll Coordinator to lead our payroll operations for multiple manufacturing sites in the region.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, managing a team of three payroll specialists, and guaranteeing full compliance with all Mexican labor laws and tax regulations.
This role is critical to our finance and HR operations and requires a professional with a strong background in accounting or finance, extensive SAP experience, and proven leadership skills.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage the end-to-end payroll processing for multiple plant locations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three direct reports, delegating tasks and managing their performance.Ensure accurate calculations and withholdings for social security (IMSS), housing fund (INFONAVIT), personal income tax (ISR), and other legal requirements.Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the SAP Payroll module, driving process improvements and ensuring system integrity.Prepare and deliver precise end-of-month, quarterly, and annual payroll reports for management and finance departments.Manage annual processes, including the calculation of the Christmas bonus (aguinaldo), profit sharing (PTU), and annual tax declarations.Act as the main point of contact for complex payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies, providing clear and effective resolutions.Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Finance departments to ensure data consistency and alignment on compensation, benefits, and new hires.Stay current with changes in Mexican labor law and tax legislation to ensure continuous compliance.RequirementsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field is required.Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in a payroll position, with demonstrated experience in a similar coordination or leadership role.Proven experience managing payroll for a multi-site manufacturing or automotive company is highly preferred.Direct experience managing and supervising a team (3 people).
Essential proficiency and hands-on experience with the SAP Payroll module (SAP HCM).
Key Competencies & SkillsTechnical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of Mexican personal income tax legislation, Federal Labor Law, and IMSS/INFONAVIT regulations.Language: Advanced/Fluent professional proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, complex formulas) is essential.Leadership: Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.Analytical Skills: Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with all levels of the organization.
