This position will carry out specialized activities focused on complying with the obligations related to transactional taxes in the different states and localities within the united states, as well as kdp's internal policies. This position will work as part of our mexico service team that supports the united states indirect tax team. This role will include exposure to us taxes items such as sales & use tax, beverage taxes, bottle deposits, business license renewals, unclaimed property, etc. Responsibilities: 1.perform general ledger reconciliations of indirect tax g/l accounts. Research and resolve g/l reconciling items. Maintain accurate documentation for support. 2.perform accounting and support functions such as preparing/posting journal entries, managing credit notes, creating purchase orders, managing annual reports, reviewing/approving bottle deposit payments, etc. 3.manage the us local business/sales tax license compliance function, by preparing business license renewal statements, managing applicable payments/fees, etc. 4.review and handle requests for exemption certificates for our vendors related to purchases. Preform taxability research related to purchasing transactions. 5.assist in indirect tax audits by providing documentation and analysis to tax authorities including sales & use tax, unclaimed property, bottle deposit, property taxes, etc. 6.support special projects as requested. 7.propose improvements to tax processes and help to automate reports. Profile •bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance •at least 1 year of experience in taxes and/or general ledger reconciliation and journal entries. •demonstrate interest in transactional taxes such as taxes applicable to sales or purchases. •strong excel skills •sap experience (preferred) •advanced english proficiency (required) •teamwork •analysis capacity •detail oriented •organized
