customs compliance specialist
this role involves overseeing customs compliance activities to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and iso standards.
key responsibilities:
* assign tariff classifications: ensure correct classification of goods according to harmonized tariff schedule (hts) and commerce control list (ccl)
* file import/export compliance documents: prepare and submit necessary documents for import/export transactions
* manage customs broker invoices: review and approve invoices from customs brokers
* classify goods shipped abroad: determine the correct tariff codes for scheduled b tariff classifications
* maintain records: keep accurate records of qualifications, licenses, and approvals
* review product descriptions: verify product descriptions and technical data to determine correct classification
qualifications and skills:
the successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, strong excel skills, and proficiency in ms word and ms powerpoint. They must also possess knowledge of erp modules and be familiar with customs regulations and iso standards.
