Senior Associate Accountant

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM EST
Salary Range: $1,500 – $2,500 per month
Leave: 10 days PTO + Ontario, Canada public holidays

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Associate Accountant to join our remote finance team. This client-facing role combines hands-on bookkeeping with financial analysis and team support. The idóneo candidate will support the Canadian team and collaborate closely with fractional CFOs and bookkeepers without direct people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
● Manage and support a team of bookkeepers (without direct line management)
● Perform 50% hands-on bookkeeping and 50% financial analysis
● Provide client-facing accounting support, collaborating with fractional CFOs
● Handle bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting for ~20 clients
● Support the Canadian finance team with detailed Excel and Power BI financial analysis
● Utilize Quick Books and proprietary tools (Jirav) for daily accounting and reporting
● Communicate proactively and clearly with team members via Microsoft Teams
Required Skills & Experience:
● Minimum 2+ years experience with Power BI and Excel financial analysis
● Strong proficiency in Quick Books bookkeeping software
● Experience in client-facing accounting roles, ideally in tech, manufacturing, or processing industries
● Comfortable working EST hours (9 AM – 6 PM) Monday to Friday
● Proactive communicator with a strong team support mindset
● Experience with Jirav or willingness to learn proprietary finance tools
● Prior remote work experience is a plus
Reporting & Team Structure:
● Reports directly to partner/fractional CFO
● Collaborates with a 4-member team and supports a sister company of 20 employees
Compensation & Benefits:
● Competitive monthly salary between $1,500 and $2,500 USD (flexible for the right candidate)
