Sr enterprise software packaging engineer
as a sr enterprise software packaging engineer, you will support application deployment and software catalog management across our enterprise environment. This role focuses on packaging, testing, and deploying software using microsoft intune, configuration manager (sccm), powershell, and batch scripting. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of windows application packaging, automation, and endpoint management to ensure efficient software distribution and compliance.
essential responsibilities:
1. package, test, and deploy applications using intune and sccm (win32, msix, lob apps, store apps).
2. develop and maintain powershell and batch scripts for application deployment, automation, and system configuration.
3. produce packages for security patches, updates, configuration changes, and hardware updates.
4. create a consistent user experience for package deployment.
5. troubleshoot software installation issues, including dependencies, permissions, and compatibility.
6. maintain and update the application catalog, ensuring compliance with security and policies.
7. collaborate with it, security, and business units for smooth application deployment.
8. utilize group policies, registry modifications, and custom scripts to support packaging.
9. provide technical documentation and sops for packaging and deployment.
10. monitor logs using tools like cmtrace, event viewer, and powershell to diagnose issues.
11. evaluate and recommend best practices for endpoint management and application deployment.
qualifications/requirements:
1. associate’s degree or relevant certifications.
2. 5+ years of it experience.
3. 2+ years of experience with sccm and intune for deployment.
4. strong scripting skills in powershell and batch.
5. experience with win32 app packaging, msi editing, and packaging tools like adminstudio and installshield.
6. familiarity with windows 10/11, microsoft endpoint manager, and azure ad.
7. experience with incident tracking systems like servicenow.
8. knowledge of software licensing, security policies, and compliance.
