about the role
the hr trainer is responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering training programs for production employees to ensure operational readiness, safety compliance, skill development, and alignment with company policies. This role works closely with production, quality, ehs, and hr to support workforce capability, productivity, and retention in a manufacturing environment.
responsibilities training & development
* develop and deliver onboarding programs for production operators, technicians, and indirect labor.
* conduct classroom and shop-floor training on policies, procedures, work instructions, and best practices.
* coordinate technical, safety, quality, and soft-skills training in collaboration with operations and ehs.
* ensure training materials are adapted to different education levels and learning styles.
compliance & documentation
* maintain training matrices, attendance records, and certification files.
* ensure compliance with labor regulations, internal policies, and customer or audit requirements (iso, iatf, osha/stps, etc.).
* support internal and external audits related to training and competence.
performance & continuous improvement
* assess training effectiveness through evaluations, kpis, and on-the-job observations.
* identify skill gaps and recommend corrective training actions.
* support cross-training and multi-skill development to improve workforce flexibility.
employee engagement
* promote a learning culture focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
* support retention initiatives through career development and skills progression programs.
* act as a communication bridge between hr and production teams.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology, education, industrial engineering, or related field.
* +5 years of experience as a trainer or hr generalist in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* experience training shop-floor employees (operators, technicians).
* knowledge of labor law basics, safety regulations, and manufacturing processes.
* strong facilitation and presentation skills.
* ability to train large groups and conduct hands-on, practical instruction.
* clear written and verbal communication.
* organizational and documentation skills.
* high level of empathy, patience, and cultural awareness.
* ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based production environment.
* experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
