A Snapshot of Your Day
As an AI/Platform Architect, the day begins with reviewing system architecture documentation and updating Architecture Design Records based on recent feedback. Engaging in a stand-up meeting with the development team allows for discussions on project progress and architectural concerns. Collaborating with the security team ensures that security by design principles are integrated effectively. After a productive morning, the architect focuses on defining events and API contracts for new features and conducts a design review session with stakeholders to present deployment strategies using Azure/solution stack building blocks. The day wraps up with writing reference code for a new service and responding to emails.
Own the end-to-end architecture for AI solutions in the ART; sit in Enterprise Architecture, stay hands-on enough to code, and keep cost, security, and operability front and center.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Define reference architecture, non-functionals, and guardrails, author Architecture Decision Records and threat models.
Select Azure building blocks and deployment strategy (, AKS/Container Apps, APIM, Event Hub/Service Bus, Key Vault, Monitor/App Insights).
Design API/event contracts and integration patterns (REST/gRPC, pub/sub, batch/stream).
Drive production readiness: SLOs, observability, runbooks, rollback/blue-green, DR.
Perform code/design reviews; curate shared libs/templates; enforce secure-by-design.
Availability to travel and visit projects.
What You Bring
Strong hands-on development skills with the ability to deliver reference implementations and POCs using technologies such as Python, .NET, Node, or Java.
Experience with modern distributed systems including microservices, event-driven architectures, idempotency, and reliability patterns like circuit breakers, retries, and caching.
Proficient in API and schema design, with knowledge of versioning and compatibility strategies. Solid understanding of cost/performance trade-offs.
Cloud infrastructure expertise, particularly with Azure, IaC, containers, registries, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Security and observability knowledge, including OAuth2/OIDC (Entra ID), Key Vault, network/isolation policies, OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, App Insights, and logging/tracing practices.
Excellent communication skills in advanced English, with demonstrated leadership, adaptability, and experience working with LLM/RAG platform patterns.
