The regional business head is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. - to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
*responsibilities*:
- the strategy senior manager will report to the strategy group manager and play a key role in developing initiatives and projects throughout the region. The strategy senior manager will be responsible for the following:
- in working with the regional head of strategy and the senior management team, help identify and develop regional projects that could materially improve the effectiveness and performance of the business.
- with team members, develop processes for providing ad hoc information on strategic initiatives, required by management.
- engage and influence several teams involved in projects that lead to commercial excellence.
- develop recommendations to advise citi's senior management on high-priority initiatives, including growth strategy, product and segment strategies, and cross business initiatives.
*qualifications*:
- 10+ years strategic experience preferred.
- ideally experience working in multiple countries.
- deep knowledge of the middle market commercial banking space and with the leading drivers of commercial excellence.
- fundamental understanding of the drivers of value and the financial statements in a commercial bank.
- outstanding problem structuring and analytic capabilities; ability to take a complex problem and organize it in discrete pieces for solution. Ability to size and prioritize large-scale initiatives across businesses.
- significant experience working effectively with senior and middle level managers and with large interdisciplinary teams.
