Junior network engineer
we are seeking a junior network engineer to support the design, implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational networking experience who are looking to grow their skills in a production environment with exposure to modern technologies including security, automation, and monitoring platforms.
key responsibilities
* assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure (lan/wan).
* support switching and routing operations in enterprise environments.
* perform basic to intermediate troubleshooting of network issues (l1–l2).
* support and maintain next-generation firewalls (ngfw).
* monitor network performance using enterprise tools and escalate issues when needed.
* analyze logs and alerts to identify potential issues or security events.
* document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
* collaborate with senior engineers on network improvements and projects.
* follow operational processes, incident management, and change management procedures.
* provide support during scheduled maintenance windows or on‑call rotations if required.
required qualifications
* 1–3 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
* solid understanding of switching (vlans, stp, trunking) and routing (static routing, ospf basics).
* hands‑on or academic experience with at least one ngfw platform (palo alto networks, cisco (firepower), fortinet).
* experience with network monitoring tools such as solarwinds, pathsolutions totalview.
* advanced english proficiency (spoken and written).
* basic knowledge of tcp/ip, dns, dhcp, and network fundamentals.
* strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
preferred / nice to have
* exposure to cisco aci (application centric infrastructure).
* experience with log analysis (syslog, siem tools, or firewall logs).
* basic scripting or automation experience (python, bash).
* familiarity with network automation tools or concepts (apis, ansible).
* understanding of security best practices and segmentation.
relevant certifications (a plus)
* ccna or equivalent
* nse 1–3 (fortinet)
* pcnsa (palo alto)
