fedex express is looking for a courier to deliver packages and provide outstanding customer service in the latin america and caribbean region.
responsibilities - provide courteous and efficient package delivery, sorting, and collection services.
- complete required paperwork and record shipments in accordance with fedex express service standards.
- operate non-articulated vehicles safely and efficiently, complying with all governmental and corporate procedures.
- accomplish accurate and timely selection, inspection, and reporting of assigned packages, stop counts, and mis-sorts.
- seek additional business from current customers and assist in new business development.
- answer customer questions and keep them informed about fedex services.
- verify that packages meet fedex features of service, proper labeling, and accurate paperwork.
- determine legality of packages, including dangerous goods and international shipments, and separate by service type and destination.
- scan packages according to prescribed procedures and demonstrate proficiency in equipment use.
- ensure customers have adequate fedex materials for shipping.
- load and unload aircraft, containers, and company vehicles and operate mechanized ramp equipment.
- clean, wash, and perform minor maintenance on company vehicles, keeping a neat and clean personal appearance.
- provide and collect necessary paperwork for pickup and delivery, including air waybills, shipping records, vehicle condition, and tax invoices.
- ensure security of fedex express and customer property such as cash, packages, equipment, and hazardous materials.
- collect tax invoices from delivered shipments that must be processed by customs authorities when necessary.
- perform other duties as assigned.
minimum requirements education - high school diploma/equivalent (preferred).
experience - one (1) year of experience driving 3.5‑ton trucks.
- license suitable for the vehicle assigned, in accordance with local regulations.
- good driving record.
- 21 years old or older.
skills - ability to lift 55 lbs. (25kg) and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs. (68kg) with appropriate equipment.
- good verbal and written communication skills; team player; strong human relations.
- successfully complete the reading, map‑reading, sorting, and math sections of the basic skills test.
- customer oriented with good organizational skills.
- problem‑solving, accuracy, attention to detail, planning, and organizing skills.
