we are expanding and seeking a software engineer in test to work closely with our team in mexico. This role focuses on ensuring quality through test and tooling automation of our industry-leading enterprise workflow automation product, tap.
as a software engineer iv in test, you will:
* collaborate with developers, qa engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure high-quality product delivery.
* design, develop, and maintain robust automated test suites (functional, regression, integration) to ensure product stability and prevent defects.
* review automated test code, participate in peer testing of pull requests, and provide constructive feedback.
* assist in identifying, reproducing, and documenting client-reported issues, communicating findings clearly to facilitate resolution.
essential duties & responsibilities
* perform manual, automated, and exploratory testing against defect fixes and new functionalities.
* reproduce production errors and develop steps for reproduction.
* coordinate with support, development, and product teams to troubleshoot and clarify issues.
* translate client concerns into test cases, and understand release, patch, and hotfix testing to prepare appropriate test plans.
* lead automation efforts within your scrum team, utilizing latest technologies to produce high-quality, reusable automated tests.
* work closely with the product owner and scrum team to deliver automated scripts within timelines.
* mentor team members and promote a culture of quality and ownership.
* automate patch and fix testing, collaborating with maintenance qa and engineering teams for fast, safe delivery.
required skills & experience
* 8+ years in manual and automation testing with selenium using c# or java.
* hands-on experience with test automation frameworks like nunit, and familiarity with azure devops.
* proficiency with c#, ado, jenkins, bitbucket, git, and test management tools like testrail and jira.
* strong skills in writing and executing manual and automated test cases, with knowledge of sql and relational databases.
* experience with ci/cd practices using jenkins, leading qa efforts in small teams, and collaborating with stakeholders.
* graduate degree in engineering or equivalent.
desired skills & experience
* experience with agile, scrum, tdd, bdd methodologies.
* proficiency in c#, selenium webdriver, nunit, rest api, javascript, html, css, jmeter, web services.
* understanding of oop concepts and design patterns.
* familiarity with ci tools like azure devops and jenkins, integrating automated tests into ci/cd pipelines.
* experience with api testing tools like postman and soapui, and performance testing with jmeter is a plus.
