to support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a product engineering director located in flex guadalajara north, campus.
reporting to the general manager. the product engineering director in a pcba & box build environment is responsible for leading product engineering strategy and execution, ensuring manufacturability, quality, cost competitiveness, and on-time delivery across the full product lifecycle. This role serves as a key interface between customers, engineering, and manufacturing operations.
what a typical day looks like:
1. define and execute the product engineering strategy aligned with site and customer business objectives.
2. lead the engineering organization supporting pcba and box build programs across npi, sustaining, and product transfers.
3. ensure dfm/dfa/dft alignment to support efficient, scalable, and high-quality manufacturing.
4. oversee npi execution from concept through ramp-up and mass production.
5. drive engineering decisions that support cost reduction, margin improvement, and manufacturing excellence.
6. lead, coach, and develop product engineering managers and engineering teams, fostering technical capability and talent growth.
7. act as a key customer-facing engineering leader, ensuring alignment on technical requirements, specifications, and change management.
8. partner closely with operations, supply chain, quality, program management, and sales teams.
9. monitor and improve engineering kpis such as yield, dppm, time-to-ramp, cost, and customer satisfaction
the experience we’re looking to add to our team:
10. bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; mba preferred or equivalent experience.
11. strong background in electronics manufacturing (pcba & box build).
12. minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in product / manufacturing engineering leadership roles.
13. proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
14. strong expertise in npi, product transfers, and lifecycle management.
15. demonstrated knowledge of apqp, ppap, fplc, gd&t, and automotive core tools.
16. experience driving design-for-manufacturing and engineering change management.
17. strong business acumen with the ability to translate customer needs into manufacturable solutions.
