Job summary
a high-level metadata analyst is sought after to oversee descriptive metadata for all content and platforms in the us english language.
* candidates must be expertly fluent in us english (fluency in languages other than english will be considered as a bonus).
* the ideal candidate will write accurate and engaging editorial metadata, edit titles and descriptions, and assign taxonomy/tags for media assets.
* this role involves curating and maintaining metadata for an enterprise-level asset library, establishing and enforcing best practices, in partnership with the broader metadata team.
key responsibilities:
* create quality, error-free, factually correct metadata (titles, descriptions and keywords), ensuring seo best practices are upheld as much as possible.
* work with brand partners to ensure keywords/taxonomy and other related video metadata are in line with seo goals.
* develop and/or enhance style guides or taxonomy values to ensure the appropriate message, tone, and look and feel.
* coordinate metadata delivery with all key stakeholders and vendors.
* enter metadata for content library based on deadline workflow.
* respond to inquiries and create/edits metadata as needed.
* establish appropriate links for connecting videos to other relevant material.
* maintain data quality post-production on library assets for future repurpose.
requirements:
* bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, english or another directly related field.
* 5+ years' experience in copywriting, editing, communications or directly related field.
* preferred: experience with taxonomies and cataloging assets.
* library/information science background is advantageous.
* excellent writing skills, with strong attention to grammar and composition in us english.
* experience with digital media assets including knowledge of production practices and distribution.
* copy editing skills including communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
* familiarity with popular culture and ability to adhere to in-house style guides.
* personal computing skills, including microsoft office applications and database applications.
* data entry and internet research skills.
