position summary
the business development associate (bda) is a high-energy, curious, and driven sales professional responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying new managed services opportunities for syntax. This role is pivotal in creating top-of-funnel pipeline through thoughtful research, creative outreach, and strong business conversations. Success in this position is defined by persistence, curiosity, and the ability to uncover genuine business pain rather than merely booking meetings.
the ideal candidate will be structured in their approach, relentless in follow-through, and enthusiastic about engaging in enterprise-level conversations. Collaboration with account executives (aes) is crucial to build a high-quality pipeline and create meaningful first impressions with senior decision-makers.
key responsibilities
* research and prioritize enterprise target accounts to understand industry dynamics, technology environments (with a focus on oracle erps and public cloud services), and identify potential gaps or transformation opportunities.
* build pipeline within your respective territory through disciplined, multi-channel outreach (phone, email, linkedin, video, direct mail).
* initiate and lead compelling first conversations with confidence and credibility, using insights and personalization to resonate with director- and c-level stakeholders and uncover business challenges and technology-related initiatives.
* collaborate closely with aes and marketing to align on account strategy, messaging, and campaign execution.
* maintain a high level of daily activity while balancing quality, relevance, and consistency.
* track and report on activity, pipeline progression, and outcomes using salesforce and hubspot.
* utilize data, feedback, and ai-powered tools to refine messaging and improve conversion rates.
* hold yourself accountable to outcomes, not just activity.
* aim to book high-quality discovery meetings and product demos for enterprise account executives.
required qualifications
* 1–3 years of bdr/sdr experience in b2b technology, with hands-on responsibility for outbound pipeline generation in mid-market or enterprise environments.
* proven ability to engage senior decision-makers (director, vp, c-level) in consultative, multi-threaded sales conversations.
* strong business and technical curiosity, with the ability to quickly grasp complex challenges and translate technical concepts into clear, compelling business narratives.
* resourceful and ownership-driven mindset; proactive in finding creative ways to break into accounts, taking accountability for results, and continuously raising personal standards.
* highly coachable and tool-savvy, comfortable working independently while closely collaborating with sales and marketing; familiarity with salesforce, 6sense, hubspot, linkedin sales navigator, and modern ai tools is a strong plus.
preferred qualifications
* experience in the technology sector, particularly with cloud solutions and erp systems.
* previous experience in a high-growth startup or fast-paced sales environment.
* demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and pipeline growth.
education & certifications
* bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
* relevant professional certifications in sales or marketing are a plus.
