the global indirect sourcing manager plays a pivotal role in shaping polaris’ global sourcing strategy and strengthening supplier capabilities. This leader will drive cost‑effective solutions across assigned commodities, optimize supplier performance, and build a resilient, high‑performing supply base. The role requires a visionary professional who can influence stakeholders, manage complex sourcing initiatives, and foster strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams including engineering, operations, product development, legal, and npi sourcing. Success in this position means aligning supplier strategies with business goals, product roadmaps, and operational resilience while delivering measurable sourcing outcomes.
Preferred qualifications
mba or master’s degree in business, engineering, or supply chain.
Apics cpim or ism certifications.
Experience in sales or engineering in addition to sourcing.
Demonstrated success in supplier innovation and global sourcing strategy execution.
Required qualifications
bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or related field.
7-10 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain.
2 + years of direct leadership experience or proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
Strong knowledge of commodity/category management, supplier development, and sourcing best practices.
Position overview
the indirect sourcing manager plays a key role in executing sourcing strategies, improving supplier performance, and supporting operational and commercial goals across indirect categories. Responsibilities include:
supporting the development and execution of multi‑year category strategies aligned with functional and business requirements.
Conducting supplier market research, benchmarking, and participating in sourcing events including rfis, rfqs, and rfps.
Assisting in the identification, evaluation, and onboarding of suppliers based on capability, cost, and performance criteria.
Partnering with product development, engineering, it, and operations to support project timelines, sourcing decisions, and category strategies.
Participating in supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, contract terms, and service levels.
Managing supplier performance through metrics tracking, business reviews, and corrective‑action coordination when needed.
Supporting internal approval processes, contract reviews, and alignment with legal and finance.
Contributing to cost‑reduction roadmaps, process improvements, and supplier‑driven innovation opportunities.
Ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with internal policies, and maintaining category data and sourcing records.
