Web Application Developer (Back-End)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work as a web developer on a team designing and developing our class-leading web-based automotive business intelligence tool.
2. Develop RESTful and/or gRPC APIs in Go and Java to support web applications and internal microservices.
3. Collaborate with systems engineers, success engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and to obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.
4. Work with users to develop and implement acceptance test plans to ensure that product meets customer requirements and expectations.
5. Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
6. Stay current in training of the latest software and computer technology.
7. Review work of other developers to ensure quality standards.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
(R – required, P – preferred, B –bonus)
8. R – Professional experience with Go, or strong interest in becoming proficient with it.
9. R – Solid grasp of data structures, concurrency, and distributed system fundamentals.
10. P – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or similar.
11. P – 3+ years of experience in Web application development.
12. P – Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
13. P – Experience with software testing, including unit testing frameworks.
14. P – Experience writing and maintaining Java backend services.
15. P – Familiarity with Terraform or Terragrunt for cloud infrastructure provisioning.
16. P – Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or other container/orchestration technology.
17. B – Experience writing TypeScript, particularly in the context of modern frontend frameworks or backend tooling.
18. B – Knowledge of HTTP/gRPC performance tuning, observability, or monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.).
