GTS Software Engineer
We’re looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join Ford México’s GTS team. The position is Full‑time, based in Polanco, Mexico City, Mexico, with a salary range of MX$14,000.00‑MX$25,000.00.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop solutions using innovative thinking; write application code and execute test scripts to validate that code meets business requirements.
- Perform technical inspections and load/volume testing as required.
- Create Unit Test Case documents and perform Unit Testing.
- Create and update application documentation.
- Support ongoing production software operations and troubleshoot production issues.
- Maintain the technology lifetime according to company policies, including renewals/upgrades.
- Collaborate with enterprise and technology teams (e.g., Ford Architects) to manage, update and execute the technical roadmap.
- Work with the team and application owners to deliver solutions or enhancements per the prioritized backlog, distinguishing must‑have from could‑have requirements.
- Operate using Agile/SCRUM methodology; actively participate in stand‑ups, iteration and release planning and other agile ceremonies.
- Manage work products and backlog in Agile tools (Jira), delivering sizing, definition, development and documentation of business capabilities within short time‑boxes.
- Deliver frequent releases of incremental functionality to the application.
Qualifications – Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience.
- English proficiency (written and verbal).
- 2‑3+ years of software development experience.
- Experience developing object‑oriented business applications (Java, SpringBoot, Gradle, PubSub or Kafka).
- 1+ year of experience deploying to cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, PCF, Azure).
- Experience designing, developing, and consuming APIs.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and strong SQL skills.
- Knowledge of cloud services and tools (e.g., Terraform, BigQuery, GCP).
- Experience with version control tools (e.g., GitHub).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Tekton, Cloud Build).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Agile experience.
- Experience with Unit Test Cases Automation (JUnit).
Nice to Have Skills
- Python development.
- Front‑end development experience.
- Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Clean Code practices.
- Security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Cycode, FOSSA).
