About the role:
we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accountant to join a us-based team remotely from mexico. This role is a critical part of our financial operations, supporting billing, reconciliation, and reporting functions, while ensuring compliance with u.s. financial standards. You'll collaborate daily with a team of professionals in the us and be part of a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
key job responsibilities
billing & invoicing
* prepare and send accurate customer invoices in a timely manner.
* track and follow up on outstanding receivables; ensure prompt payment collections.
* address client inquiries related to billing discrepancies or documentation.
accounts payable & vendor management
* process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
* maintain up-to-date records of vendors and payment terms.
* monitor and resolve any payment or reconciliation issues.
bank & credit card reconciliation
* perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts.
* identify and resolve discrepancies promptly and escalate issues as needed.
month-end & year-end close
* assist with the preparation of month-end and year-end financial close processes.
* reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and generate financial reports.
* coordinate with the finance team to meet internal deadlines and reporting standards.
systems & software management
* maintain and update financial data in netsuite and other accounting platforms.
* assist in implementing system improvements and automation of financial workflows.
audit & compliance support
* maintain proper documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
* support internal and external audits by preparing reports, files, and schedules.
reporting & analysis
* assist in preparing financial summaries, dashboards, and variance analyses.
* monitor and improve key financial kpis such as ar aging, days sales outstanding (dso), and cash flow forecast accuracy.
cross-functional collaboration
* communicate regularly with us-based teams.
* provide accounting support for business initiatives, vendor onboarding, and contracts.
* participate in virtual meetings and provide real-time updates.
continuous improvement
* identify inefficiencies in current accounting processes and suggest improvements.
* stay up-to-date with best practices in remote financial operations and u.s. accounting standards.

* bachelor's degree in accounting
* 2+ years of professional accounting experience.
* fluent in english – both written and verbal communication.
* proficient in accounting and billing software; experience with netsuite is highly preferred.
* strong knowledge of microsoft excel or google sheets.
* experience working in a remote or cross-border environment is a plus.
* self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.

* must be available to work us business hours (e.g., central or eastern time overlap required)
