The HSE Manager, provides a strategy for monitoring the activities of the Corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management System and the health, safety, and environmental programs legally required by government agencies.
Leadership and collaboration are essential to achieving the site's objectives in health, safety, and environmental control.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Develop and follow up daily, weekly, and monthly on the activities defined with the work team that support the Health, Industrial Hygiene, and Safety Management System, in accordance with the procedures established by the Corporate HSE Management System and carry out the safety and environmental programs required by the relevant authorities.
+ Attend tier meetings at staff and corporate levels and follow up on actions assigned to their responsibility.
+ Prepare monthly reports.
+ Prepare and present monthly reports to Corporate HSE.
+ Attend audits from government agencies (STPS, SEMARNAT, ISESALUD, etc.).
+ Conduct safety gembas with staff members across different areas of the plant.
+ Hold follow-up meetings with HSE system champions.
+ Enter information into the corporate MTS system.
+ Identify, develop programs, and ensure legal compliance in safety and environmental matters.
+ Lead the safety and environmental program of the HSE management system.
+ Conduct and deliver safety and environmental training to supervisors and employees.
+ Ensure monitoring, permits, and licenses in environmental matters.
+ Support accident investigations and follow up on corrective actions until closure as required.
+ Conduct contractor audits.
+ Actively participate in the HOS Continuous Improvement process and implement improvement ideas.
+ Lead Kaizen events related to HSE.
+ Make decisions and implement actions to maintain the EHS strategy and meet annual HSE goals.
+ Everyone is responsible for complying with the procedures established in our Quality System to maintain and continue ISO 9001:2015 certification.
+ Comply with the Internal Work Regulations and Safety Rules (ISO 45000).
+ Use and care for PPE according to their area.
+ Complete the safety courses required for the position.
+ Know and comply with cardinal rules.
+ Support and participate in HSE activities.
+ Comply with requirements and make improvements in safety aspects.
+ Ensure proper working conditions and environment within their area of responsibility.
+ Analyze the work carried out in their area to identify potential risks and take action to minimize or reduce them.
+ Participate in the investigation of work-related accidents in their department.
+ Comply with and enforce the established Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) objectives, ensuring safety and health practices are followed by personnel under their supervision.
+ Ensure that personnel under their supervision have the required safety training for their tasks and assign them to operations according to their skills and certifications.
+ Promote the participation of personnel under their supervision in HSE activities.
+ Ensure compliance with metrics, objectives, and expectations of their area in terms of safety.
+ Participate in daily follow-up meetings held at different levels in the production area as part of HOS, responding promptly and effectively to problem resolution within their responsibility or function.
+ Maintain control of permits and official reports.
+ Represent the company in matters as required.
+ Develop projects that minimize waste or reduce environmental impact.
+ Supervise the work carried out by different departments of the company in HSE matters.
+ Develop and provide training to employees related to HSE.
+ Address complaints, notifications, and/or appointments generated by government agencies.
+ Maintain safety metrics.
+ Ensure closure of corrective actions.
+ Ensure compliance with legal HSE requirements.
+ Coordinate safety and emergency programs.
+ Develop procedures to meet HSE requirements.
+ Analyze and investigate work-related incidents and accidents.
+ In their managerial capacity, demonstrate leadership and commitment to the Occupational Health and Safety Management System as established by ISO 45001 and enforce the HSE Sustainable Development Policy.
**YOU MUST HAVE:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related.
+ 6 to 8 years of experience in the HSE area.
+ 2 to 3+ years of experience managing teams.
+ Experience with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems.
+ Experience in developing strategic HSE plans.
+ Implementation of ISO 14001 / OSHA 18001.
+ Implementation of Voluntary Programs such as Self-Management and Clean Industry.
+ Development of strategic HSE plans using tools such as A3 and Macro Plan.
+ English language proficiency.
+ Knowledge of safety, hygiene, and environmental laws (STPS, SEMARNAT, SPA).
+ IMSS regulations (ST7, ST9, ST2, among others).
+ Management of legal requirements in projects or transfers.
+ Knowledge and application of ISO 45001 requirements.
+ Knowledge of legal safety requirements for their work area.
+ Knowledge of methodologies for identifying hazards, risks, and safety and health opportunities.
