Job description
* oversee and communicate all cash flow matters, including timely preparation of cash flow reports, management of receivables/payables, and proper fund deposits.
* ensure accurate recording and reporting of revenues and expenses in compliance with hotel standards.
* lead the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis.
* direct the production and accuracy of daily and monthly financial reports.
* analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to meet financial goals.
* monitor capital planning and roi for improvements, including bid process oversight and scope evaluation.
* ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, tax regulations, licenses, permits, contracts, and legal obligations.
* supervise and develop the finance team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
* collaborate closely with the executive committee to align financial goals with operational performance.
* support a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and lateral service in line with hospitality standards.
qualifications
* college degree in business, hospitality, accounting/finance or related field preferred
* minimum of 5 years of progressive finance/accounting management experience in a full service property, all inclusive, or luxury resort
* ability to create, implement and monitor hotel and staff goals, strategies and policies
* ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility
* ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired ends
* ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
* open to feedback and ability to make appropriate changes as needed
* proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values
* a proficient understanding of computer systems such as: opera, microsoft word, excel, outlook.
* ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen
* possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
* ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
* ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
* must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
* must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
* knowledge of local laws, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations
