the control management team provides operational risk and control coverage from both a corporate and legal entity perspective through continuous and proactive execution of controls, assessment, and monitoring of corrective actions to mitigate compliance and operational risks. The team offers a centralized view of all control functions, enabling immediate, real‐time problem detection, discussion, and escalation. Main activities include overseeing regulatory exams and ensuring regulatory issues are properly addressed, leading projects to ensure full compliance with local requirements and corporate policies, and working with key stakeholders to implement regulatory changes communicated by legal and compliance.
responsibilities
* co‐chair the local control committee and actively participate in relevant local governance.
* conduct and lead risk assessments for matters impacting local legal entities in partnership with the relevant business and function control managers.
* coordinate teams to identify control gaps, elevate them, and collaborate with control owners to address issues promptly, acting as a facilitator for risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
* coordinate cross‐business/function discussions on matters impacting the local franchise, such as regulatory changes and examinations.
* conduct pre‐regulatory review checks to support timely requests during regulatory exams.
* coordinate regional efforts to implement and enhance corporate policies and control frameworks.
* facilitate coordination for issue management across the different businesses/functions in the location.
qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* professional experience (+/- 7 years) in a regulatory, risk, or business background with demonstrated career progression; specialist experience in a control discipline is preferred.
* excellent coordination, analytical, quantitative, and control skills.
* excellent management and communication, relationship‐building, and influencing skills.
* experience dealing with regulatory authorities.
* presence and ability to engage with senior management.
* flexibility and ability to partner with other team members across global time zones.
* bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required.
* fluent in english and spanish is required.
* knowledge of local market required.
