Strategic guidance & business planning- actionable guidance: recommends and provides guidance on actions necessary to achieve financial targets, manage costs, and explore efficiency opportunities across the commercial p&l. - strategic investment: working collaboratively cross-functionally to identify and vet new opportunities, including building business cases, performing feasibility and returns analysis, and establishing and tracking financial performance targets. - financial planning: lead the local business ownership and execution of the bi-annual financial planning and annual budgeting cycles for sales, promotions, and net margin, ensuring alignment with regional and global profitability targets. - monthly sales rolling forecast: lead the execution and ownership of a robuist monthly sales rolling forecast process in close partnership with the commercial and operations teams to ensure alignment with demand planning, developing solid underlying assumptions on sales and volume.2. Commercial performance & profitability- customer profitability: analyze customer profitability (p&l) and collaboratively work with the sales and leadership teams in mexico and the us to identify opportunities for margin improvement. - pricing & promotion: support the development of the pricing and promotional strategy and plan. Conduct robust pre- and post-mortem analysis of promotional effectiveness to maximize return on investment (roi) and net margin. - performance monitoring: implement and manage monthly tracking and reporting of net sales performance, analyzing results by brand, category, customer, and model level. - variance analysis: prepare detailed business variance analysis against budget, forecast, and historical data, providing actionable insights to the leadership team. - business evaluation: assist in business evaluation analysis of key performance measures, including pricing, mix, and efficiency metrics. - inventory optimization: partner with the sales and operations teams to optimize inventory levels by ensuring accurate sales forecasts minimize excess stock.3. Investment control- contract management: own the process of tracking variable and fixed contracts for each customer, ensuring all terms are accurately reflected in actauls, forecasts and budgets. - accrual management: manage and validate ongoing running accruals for customer claims (e.g., co-op), and reconcile monthly against paid claims to ensure financial accuracy. - marketing investments reporting and analysis: monthly tracking and reporting all the atl and btl marketing expenditures alongside with specific kpis. - special projects: assist with special projects and requests from the regional finance and local general management teams, including ad-hoc modeling and deep-dive analyses.required qualifications & competenciesprofessional experience & education- experience: approximately 5-10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a significant focus on commercial finance, fp&a, or controller roles, ideally within a consumer packaged goods (cpg), durable goods, or retail sector. Initial experience at big4 and major consulting firms a plus. - international experience: experience operating for a subsidiary of a foreign parent company is strongly preferred. - education: bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Master's degree (mba) or professional certification (cpa, cima) is highly desirable. - language: fluency in both spanish and english (written and verbal) is required. Knowledge of italian is a plus.key skills & mindset- technical proficiency: excellent computer skills, including advanced excel and experience with major erp systems. Proficiency with sap and planning tools (e.g., bpc, sap analytics cloud, bw) is essential. Exposure to ai tools considered a plus. - independence & ownership: must be a highly independent self-starter capable of building processes from the ground up, managing priorities without continuous oversight, and thriving as the key finance resource in-market. - business partnership & communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to ask qualitative questions to drive insight.
