The buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services required to support company operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing, supplier performance, and timely delivery while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry requirements. responsibilities
* manage assigned commodities such as cable and wire, connectors, terminals, hardware, chemicals, sheet metal.
* place purchase orders for goods and services in accordance with company procedures.
* plan and release purchase orders to secure materials and services on an as-needed basis.
* solicit price and delivery information from suppliers.
* obtain material order confirmations, including best delivery dates and availability for new and existing orders.
* follow up on open purchase orders regarding tickers, late deliveries, documentation issues, or supplier updates.
* develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
* evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, on-time delivery, and lead time.
* recommend sources of supply based on competitiveness, reliability, and capability.
* identify and qualify new suppliers when necessary.
* process rma (return material authorization) and rtv (return to vendor) transactions when required.
* work with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues.
* communicate schedules and deadlines with internal customers such as material planning, production, engineering, and customer account managers.
* work with peers, leads, or cross-functional teams to improve material availability, delivery dates, and supply chain performance.
* expedite critical orders to support production schedules.

bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or related field preferred.
experience
* 1-3+ years of procurement experience with strategic sourcing and supplier management responsibilities
experience in aerospace manufacturing environment is preferred.
strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
* knowledge of erp/mrp purchasing systems
* ability to analyze supplier performance and purchasing data
* strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
* problem-solving and decision-making abilities
* microsoft office proficiencyenglish proficiency: 80% or higher
