the production supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and on-time delivery. This role leads and coordinates production teams, manages resources, and ensures compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and industry standards.
responsabilidades
* supervise and coordinate production activities across assigned shifts/areas (assembly, sheet metal, powder coating, molding, etc).
* ensure compliance with production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
* monitor performance metrics (productivity, scrap, rework, downtime, etc) and implement corrective actions when necessary.
* lead and motivate production teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
* coordinate with support departments (maintenance, quality, engineering, hr, logistics) to resolve issues and optimize processes.
* ensure compliance with workplace safety standards (osha, iso, internal policies).
* conduct shift meetings, assign work, and follow up on priorities and targets.
* identify training needs, coach employees and support career development within the production area.
* participate in audits, problem‑solving initiatives, and lean manufacturing/kaizen projects.
required qualifications
* education: bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* experience: 3-5 years in a supervisory role within the manufacturing sector.
* knowledge:
o manufacturing processes (sheet metal, painting, molding, assembly).
o lean manufacturing, six sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
o production planning and kpi management.
o basic knowledge of erp/mrp systems.
* skills:
o strong leadership and team management.
