Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the cloud. The Infrastructure Delivery (InfraDelivery or ID) team is responsible for capacity delivery from loading dock to service rack, aligning skills to required tasks to improve customer capacity delivery. The Installation Technician will be primarily tasked with installing cabling and new racks within data centers.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated, and eager to learn and upskill. You must be able to adhere to standard processes and best practices, work in a team environment, and communicate to promote cross-team functionality. This position has a physical component and may involve working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
Key responsibilities
- Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
- Install and test copper and fiber optic cabling.
- Perform basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
- Create/attach labels and barcodes.
- Manually handle and lift equipment (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
- Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
- Manage inventory of related materials.
- Adhere to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
- Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environments.
- Ability to travel within the geographical work area is required.

Basic Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- STEM classes or vocational course curriculum
- 18 years of age or older
- National of an EU member state
